Men’s Soccer: No. 11 Roadrunners’ unbeaten streak snapped, fall 2-0 at Cerritos

In a battle of two of the top teams in the South Coast Conference as well as the state, the No. 11 state-ranked Rio Hondo College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at No. 9 Cerritos College on Tuesday.

The Roadrunners had their seven-game unbeaten streak snapped as they fell to 9-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in South Coast Conference play.

Rio Hondo was limited to just five shots in the contest while Cerritos (11-2-1, 5-0-0 SCC) had 13. Arturo Bustamante had a busy time in goal for the Roadrunners and made three saves.

The Falcons got goals in the 27th minute from Arnold Castillo and 77th from Pablo Caparelli.

Rio Hondo returns to action on Friday (Oct. 22) when the Roadrunners host Los Angeles City College in a 4 p.m. South Coast Conference game.
