Sophomore Federico Hurtado scored Rio Hondo College's lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Long Beach City College on Friday. The South Coast Conference defeat dropped the Roadrunners to 5-7-4 overall and 1-2-2 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, host Long Beach (6-8-3, 3-2-1 SCC) opened the scoring with a goal in the 56th minute by Sahleek Joubert. Five minutes later, the Roadrunners got the equalizer with Hurtado's goal off the assist from Fernando Guerrrero.

But the Vikings pulled out the victory, getting the eventual game-winning goal from Sergio Flores in the 83rd minute.

Rio Hondo will look to earn its first win in three games when it travels to No. 1 nationally-ranked Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday (Oct. 29) for a 7 p.m. SCC game.
