Men’s Basketball: Howing, Patterson earn All-South Coast Conference honors

Rio Hondo College's Bryant Howing and Aaron Patterson were both named to the All-South Coast Conference postseason team following impressive sophomore seasons for the Roadrunners. Howing earned first-team All-SCC honors while Patterson was an honorable mention selection.

Howing closed out the 2019-20 season averaging 14.3 points per game. The guard originally out of Los Altos High School, also averaged 3.6 assists and 3.7 rebounds. Howing led Rio Hondo with 58 three-pointers and 69 steals on the season.

He scored a career-high 28 points against LA Pierce College on Nov. 3 while on Nov. 15, Howing posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists in a loss to College of the Desert.

Patterson led the Roadrunners in scoring and rebounds, averaging 16.5 PPG and 8.1 RPG. He scored 20+ points in 10 games the season, including a career-high 27 points as part of a double-double with 16 rebounds against Pasadena City College. He also had a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds against LA Trade-Tech College.

Rio Hondo recently wrapped up the season with a 4-24 overall record and 1-7 mark in the South Coast Conference North Division.
