SANTA MARIA --- Sophomore catcher Rafael Flores smacked his third home run in seven games, as part of a 4 for 5 day at the plate, to help lead Rio Hondo College to an 11-4 rout at Allan Hancock College on Tuesday.

Flores' grand slam in the top of the fourth inning was the big blow in a 10-run rally by the Roadrunners. Nolan Anguiano capped the surge with a two-run triple.

Steven Alvarez picked up the win for Rio Hondo, going six innings while allowing three runs and seven hits. He struck out six.

Rio Hondo totaled a season-high 15 hits in the contest, including six for extras bases. Anguiano was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs while Gabriel Rico went 3 for 5 with a pair of runs.
